Class routines and collection

Lunchtime is between 12pm and 1pm. Children will play outdoors for 30 minutes and then spend 30 minutes eating in hall. In Year 4, they go out for play at 12:00 & at 12.30, they eat lunch in the dinner hall. They should bring their own water bottle each day, and take home each evening.

Year 4 children line up at the top playground gate where their teacher will be waiting. If your child is going to be picked up by anyone other than the regular carer you need to inform the class teacher via Class Dojo or the office as soon as possible. If the class teacher is unaware of any arrangements they will need to phone parents to confirm what has been agreed. Please make sure the class teacher knows who will be picking up your child to save any problems at the end of the day.

PE Kit: white collarless T-shirt, maroon or black shorts, maroon hoodie with PE logo, black tracksuit trousers, white socks & plain trainers

Each week two children from each class will be selected to receive an award in our "Celebration Assembly". These are awarded outstanding contributions throughout the week. Every other week some children who have been identified as always making fantastic choices may be chosen to go to 'Hot Chocolate Club' on a Friday afternoon with Mr McAlinden.

Homework

Year 4 children should be encouraged and supported to read every night. Children can record their reading on their QR bookmark. They will be able to work together to contribute to our reading pompom jar for a whole class reward for reading at home!

Homework will be set on Mathletics and Ed Shed, on a Monday, to be returned by the following Monday. This will be a Maths activity and a spelling task based on the spelling rule children have been learning throughout the week.

Children also are encouraged to visit TT Rockstars in preparation for the Multiplication Check in June.

Children have been sent home log in details for the above platforms. If you require any further support please contact your class teacher in the first instance

Adventures in Year 4!

At Gledhow, we enhance our curriculum with a series of opportunities that all our pupils need to support their personal development. These opportunities focus on developing resilience, confidence and independence and best prepare them to be respectful citizens of modern Britain. We provide them all with a sense of responsibility for themselves, their school and their wider community.
